Our 2019 congregation council was installed on Sunday, with the children helping to read the service and bless the members. Installed were Roger Hopkins, president; Kristina Oland, vice president; Mike Wadle, secretary; Trent Lange, treasurer; Michael Bauling, Marisa Busch, Al Fisher, Cathy Foelske, Kayla Kittleson, Bob Keil, Ashley Murcia, and Arija Weber. Our thanks to them for their willingness and commitment to serve in this ministry. 👏🏼😊🙏🏼
Listen carefully and you’ll hear several kids—and a lot of much bigger people—helping Pastor Janet install our 2019 church council.

Last year @ BYG Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center, there was Salem and FLC. This year, we have 7 congregations! Pastor Janet joined us for the morning hike, and we are tired, but going strong in the beautiful sun today!
Look at all the opportunities to serve with all these different ministries at First Lutheran!
Greetings from LOMC (Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center)! We are back from our campfire and are just about all settled in. Tomorrow we learn about Bible heroes and get in a little more hiking.

Throwback Thursday: As we're all trapped inside on the coldest days of IL history, you might enjoy remembering when it was 130 deg warmer - and then pull out your calendar... VBS 2019 is June 10-14. If you have been part of our VBS community, even if you are not an FLC member - and would like to join us as a volunteer leader (grown-ups) or guide (6th gr. & up) for a week of growing your own faith alongside friends of all ages, send a note to [email protected]. This year our learning is centered on the question: Who is My Neighbor?
Joy to the world—it’s the fourth Sunday of Advent! 🎼🎄🙏🏼
Like Alex, we’re all just angels who need help occasionally getting our halos back on. 😇🌲🙏🏼
These angels are making a joyful noise! 🎼
Today we recognize all veterans, but especially those from what was deemed the War to End All Wars. At 11:00 on 11-11-18, for the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I, Bill Colvin rang the church bells. Listen here for the last few peals. May peace and unity ring out as well!
Thanks to Luke and Grace, as well as Aidan and Alivia (a.k.a. Lumpy the camel), for helping to proclaim today’s Gospel.

What a nice morning we had with Alexia, Rory, Madison, and Bryson! Join us Sunday, Sept. 30 when they are confirmed during our 9:00 worship service. Afterwards we'll gather in the social hall for cake and punch to celebrate their special day.
Sharing a clip from our worship tonight at WOW... We've had a week filled with service, daily Bible study and worship, faith formation and leadership, and just enough horsing around! More pics coming soon...
